Impatiens Bush Mix (Impatiens balsamina) is a prolific bloomer, producing an abundance of colorful flowers in shades of pink, purple, red, and white throughout the summer. These easy-to-grow, non-GMO heirloom plants add a burst of color to shady spots in your garden, containers, or hanging baskets. With a compact growth habit, they make an excellent choice for smaller spaces or for adding depth and texture to larger gardens.
• Annual
• Plant height: 18-24 inches
• Days to maturity: 70-84 days
• USDA Zone: 2-11
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS (Included on packet):
For spring planting, a 30 day cold stratification is needed before sowing. Start Impatiens seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date, or direct sow outdoors after the last frost. Sow seeds 1/8" deep in well-draining soil and keep the soil moist but not soggy. Maintain a temperature of 70-75°F (21-24°C) for best germination. Seeds should germinate within 10-20 days. Once seedlings have developed two sets of true leaves, transplant them outdoors after all danger of frost has passed. Space plants 9-12 inches apart in a partially shaded location. Water regularly, ensuring the soil remains consistently moist.
